In the next few months before summer, I'm setting myself a little challenge; if I don't get myself prepared for a starting a second college degree, then I'm a big sissy. :S
I'm choosing Graphic Design as my next goal because I once had an opportunity to excel at a great class that matches my skills back at secondary school 5 years ago. Only sat it for one year for GCSEs before the school took it off the A-Level curriculum which I done afterwards - that cheesed me off when they did that!
At my campus, the GD class takes up the massive room which used to be the library before it got moved. I usually pass through it on the way to the media department and am so impressed with the way people were getting together since it was a very flexible course. A huge room too with balconies so they can prance and prattle on to each corner of the room to show their work to each other. Which makes my group a bunch of hairy old hermits in comparison (no offence, lads! ^^).
As it turns out, I'm one of the last ever students to take the Multimedia Design and Digital Animation course before it is discontinued, to make way for smaller concise choices like game design, character design, video making and map making for Unreal 3. We had a few leaves and absenses here and there, and I'm never happy if my class is like, less than half-full for a lesson. So in a way we're dying and I feel ready to take on yet another ambition I have kept living inside me for years.
I have 3 modules left, one of them being the final project where I show off my 3D modelling skills. 4 full days in the labs a week 'til June should to the trick. Now I'm damn tired out gloating over this all day and am going to sleep. Enjoy my 'new' drawings!!

There are students in your school who actually make video games? Real ones that get released?
i went to school at one college for 3.5 years before i left. i started as a GD major/ Ill minor, but switched to Electronic Imaging major/GD minor and it was reeeaaally difficult. long story short, it was too much give on my part and i wasn't getting much of anything back. it can run you down real quick if you don't stay on top of it every day.
regardless of your decision - best of luck to you, and just keep your head up and try your hardest. in the art world, you won't be noticed unless you are producing at 100%, so give it your all on everything
I had fun at my Magic prerelease, also got raked into a fun draft afterwards. Ended up with some cool cards. I'm looking forward to the release event this weekend!
I'm done with the course somewhere in July. All my stuff is due on May and then I'll have an exhibition to put up, that should be spiffing.
Ah, so you finish this summer, and you will claim you're a big sissy if you don't sort out getting yourself back in there for a Graphics Design degree?
